About Suertes del Marqués Edición 3 Blanco

From the volcanic heart of Tenerife emerges Suertes del Marqués, a winery that competes with the elite. It's no surprise that the esteemed Wine & Spirits magazine has ranked it among the top 100 wineries globally in 2019, 2021, 2022, and 2023. Quite an achievement.

Its name is steeped in history. In the past, in the Valle de La Orotava (Tenerife), plots of land were known as "suertes," and part of these lands belonged to an old landowner. Hence the name Suertes del Marqués. Today, those same volcanic lands give birth to some of the most captivating wines in the Canary Islands.

Suertes del Marqués Edición 3 Blanco is born in the spectacular Valle de La Orotava, in the north of Tenerife, where vineyards cling to volcanic slopes between 300 and 750 metres above sea level. The winery cultivates 11 hectares of its own and collaborates with local viticulturists who contribute another 15 hectares, some situated up to 800 metres. This creates a genuine mosaic of orientations, microclimates, and sandy-loam volcanic soils that impart freshness, tension, and character to the wine.

The undisputed star is the listán blanco, a variety that here expresses itself with remarkable purity. All work is carried out by hand, from the vineyard to the harvest. In the winery, the philosophy is clear: intervene as little as possible to allow the landscape to manifest in the glass. After harvesting, the grapes are destemmed, gently pressed, and fermented in 500-litre oak barrels. Subsequently, the wine rests for 22 months on its fine lees in those same barrels, gaining depth, texture, and complexity.
