Torre Muga 2021 captivates from the outset with its deep red hue, promising youthfulness and significant ageing potential. On the nose, it exhibits a high intensity with alluring notes of ripe blackberry and strawberry, complemented by hints of wood, toast, coffee, and a touch of chocolate, courtesy of its ageing in top-quality French oak barrels. On the palate, the wine progresses smoothly, perfectly balancing acidity and alcohol, with soft tannins that provide a silky sensation. Its long and persistent finish leaves a lasting impression. Undoubtedly, it is recommended for its impeccable balance and the outstanding quality of this vintage.

About Torre Muga

Torre Muga is the jewel of La Rioja. This wine is balanced and full, a great representation of the artisan work and experience of Bodegas Muga.
This wine is a blend of 75% Tempranillo, 15% Mazuelo, and 10% Graciano grape varieties from plantations South-West orientated on the foothills of the Obarene Mountains, in the heart of Rioja Alta.
The distinctive climate of the region, the marl soils and the old vines are the fundamental features for a wine of such high quality.
Fermentation is always natural and spontaneous taking place in wooden vats, without any temperature controls. It then spends 18 months in new French oak barrels and 6 months more in wooden vats.
Before bottling it is clarified with fresh egg whites.

Torre Muga 2020 is a red wine of remarkable elegance, with dense legs that slowly descend in the glass. Its colour exhibits purple tinges, reflecting its youthfulness. On the nose, it reveals intense aromas of black fruits such as blackberries and plums, accompanied by a subtle hint of spice. On the palate, it presents a concentrated and well-structured profile, with smooth tannins and a lingering finish. Perfect for those seeking a youthful wine with character. 
2019 Torre Muga 2019 is a red wine that on the nose offers intense aromas of blackberries and strawberries, accompanied by a delicate smoky touch from the aging process. Powerful on the palate without sacrificing elegance, with an exquisite balance between alcohol, fruit and acidity. A wine with smooth tannins and a long and persistent mouthfeel, that leaves a pleasant sensation of fullness.
2016

Torre Muga 2016 is a mature red wine with complex aromas of black fruit compote, spicy notes of black pepper and subtle hints of undergrowth, toast and smoke. The palate is sweet, pleasant and very elegant. A wine with notable freshness and silky tannins. The finish is lingering and very frank.
2009 Initially, this wine has a mellow expression, but its acidity keeps it lively all over the palate. It is a powerful and balanced wine with noticeable but quite polished tannins.

Clean and bright maroon colour with bluish reflections.

It is a complex wine with aromas of sweet red and black fruit, spicy notes of clove, black pepper and mellow vanilla hints. Once the wine is aerated, the balsamic and toasted aromas are noticed along with hints of undergrowth.
2006 Concentrated, complex, elegant, intense and flavourful Spanish wine. It shows a very nice, wide and embracing attack. The notes of fruit noticed in the nose are felt again wrapped in creamy, spicy and toasted aromas on a balsamic background. Balanced acidity and elegant tannins. Very long and persistent finish with very balanced pleasant sensations.

Intense, dark and almost opaque maroon cherry colour with scarlet edges. High layer and dense tears.

Elegant, complex and well balanced wine with a high aromatic intensity. Its abundant notes of very ripe stewed fruit is released on an intense and wide range of sweet, hot and creamy spices. Seductive hints of cocoa, coffee, tobacco and some leather are also noticed along with elegant toasted aromas and fresh balsamic nuances.
2005 A powerful attack, balanced and yet syrupy smooth. Very long and honest aftertaste.

Garnet colour with good robe and slight brick-red hues around the edge

On the nose, aromas of spices and chocolate, wrapped up in fruit which is almost like a liqueur.
