In Santorini (Greece), where the sky and sea merge in an endless embrace, a wine emerges that captures the essence of the island: Tselepos Santorini. Each bottle encapsulates the energy of the volcano, the saline breeze, and the mystery of its vineyards, inviting you to discover a place where tradition and innovation converse, and where the earth speaks through the grape. Ktima Tselepos does not merely produce wines, but embodies the passion of Yiannis and Amalia for achieving the perfect balance between the history of their vineyards and experimentation in each harvest.
Trained in Oenology in Dijon and with experience in Burgundy, Yiannis Tselepos fell in love with the white variety moschofilero and dedicated his life to rescuing it from obscurity. His philosophy focuses on studying, experimenting, and showcasing the full potential of each variety, tending to his own vineyards and working closely with producers to allow each grape to express its character freely. Each bottle reflects the climate, soils, and light of the terroir where it is born, as well as the patience and respect required for great wines.
In the enchanting Santorini, Tselepos Santorini is crafted at the winery Canava Chrissou – Tselepos, the result of the collaboration between Yiannis and Amalia with the Chrissou family. Among the volcanic slopes of Pyrgos, Emporio, and Megalohori, the ancient vineyards awaken with each dawn, caressed by the sun and the sea breeze, reviving traditional methods that reveal the soul of the island in every cluster. Here, the fruit transforms into a wine that evokes strolls among white houses and blue domes, suspended between sky and water.
Tselepos Santorini is a white wine crafted from carefully handpicked assyrtiko grapes, fermented at low temperatures, with aging on lees that enhances its minerality and complexity. Its aromas of flint, iodized notes, and citrus nuances recall the saline wind, the intense light, and the vibrant energy of the island, while its fresh and structured body envelops the palate with elegance and harmony. Tasting it is to travel without moving: to feel the sun on your skin, the sea breeze, and the charm of the steep alleyways. Perfect with fish, seafood, and light Mediterranean cuisine, it nods to the island lifestyle and the artisanal care that defines Ktima Tselepos.
