Tasting notes Veigamoura 2023
White wine Aged on its lees Respectful agriculture. 14 meses en depósitos de acero inoxidable.
Veigamoura 2023 is a white wine that entices you to explore its character from the outset. Its straw-yellow hue with greenish glints captivates the eye. Upon bringing it to the nose, floral aromas such as jasmine and orange blossom unfold, accompanied by aromatic herbs, refreshing citrus, and notes of apple, pear, apricot, and a hint of candied fruit that adds sophistication. On the palate, its creamy texture melds with citrus and ripe fruit flavours, with a saline touch reminiscent of the sea, leaving a persistent and complex aftertaste. A wine recommended for its balance and distinctive personality.

About Veigamoura
The sea conjures up so many things… It mirrors our emotions: calm and storm, depth and mystery. Its whisper soothes us; its vastness reminds us of our own smallness and, simultaneously, our connection to something greater. But when we speak of wine, we speak of salinity. Of that unique touch born from vines that breathe the sea, absorbing its breeze and essence. So, when you encounter a wine that leaves a marine memory on your palate, there is no doubt, you are in the presence of a true wine of the sea.
The wines of Veigamoura, a project initiated by Toni Alonso in the town of Arbo, within the Condado do Tea subzone of the Rías Baixas, possess the power to transport us to that infinite horizon, where flavour becomes memory. Its namesake wine is an albariño with vineyards located on a mountainside at an altitude of 280 metres. Vines planted in rocky terrain, with granite shards that reflect sunlight, are cultivated through sustainable viticulture, respecting the natural environment and employing traditional techniques. The harvest is done by hand, and the wine ferments with native yeasts in stainless steel tanks. Subsequently, the wine ages on fine lees for 14 months, with 6 months of bâtonnage.
Granite soils, a wholly Atlantic climate, and utmost respect for the environment have been the driving forces behind the creation of Veigamoura, a Rías Baixas wine with vibrant acidity, an intense aromatic profile, and a saline undertone that beckons one to return to it time and again.
