12 Lunas 2022 invites us to explore its expressive character from the very first moment. In the glass, it reveals a deep, brilliant red hue. About 12 Lunas

12 Lunas is a round, fresh and lingering wine. The aromas of ripe red fruits and the fine toasting of the ageing process stand out. 

12 Lunas is a red wine produced by the winery El Grillo y la Luna in Barbastro, D.O. Somontano.

El Grillo y la Luna is a family project that was born in Barbastro in 2007, with the aim of producing wines with soul, wines that are unique.
They have 5 different vineyard areas, which have several types of soils: calcareous soils, alluvial soils with gravel or loam soils, located between 300 and 400 metres of altitude.
They work with a total of 48 hectares of their own vineyards. Their motto is that wine is created in the vine. Therefore, wines only hit the market when they are at their best, with maximum respect for the singularity of the vintage.
They produce two lines of wine: 12 Lunas, a line of fresh, fruit-laden wines, and El Grillo, a line of more complex wines, with a greater reflection of the terroir.

12 Lunas is a wine produced with Tempranillo, Grenache and Cabernet Sauvignon. Once they have been harvested, they ferment in stainless steel deposits at a temperature that ranges between 25ºC and 29ºC. Maceration takes place within 2 to 4 weeks, depending on the variety. Once the maceration has finished, it is aged for 9 months in 225-litre second and third fill French oak barrels.

12 Lunas 2021 is a red wine with character and elegance. On the nose, it features aromas of ripe red fruits, such as cherries and blackberries, accompanied by subtle hints of vanilla and sweet spices. On the palate, it is concentrated and well-structured, with smooth tannins and a long, pleasurable finish. Its barrel aging adds an extra layer of complexity, making each sip a delight.
