About 4 Monos La Danza del Viento Camino Real

The flight of a bird is akin to a flawless choreography between its wings, its body, and the air. Initially, its wings beat vigorously, lifting the air beneath them to gain momentum. Yet, it's not merely a matter of flapping them haphazardly; the bird has a strategy, knowing precisely how and when to move them to ascend, turn, or maintain balance. In a similar vein, the vines of a singular plot in Cadalso de los Vidrios, in Madrid (Spain), have, over time, discovered their own rhythm within the vineyard. They have adapted impeccably to their surroundings, discerning when to soak up the sun, when to seek moisture in the granitic soil, and how to withstand the harsh mountain climate. This unique ability is what four friends, known under the project 4 Monos, have managed to recognise and enhance. Through their vision and dedication, they have achieved a harmonious flow within the entire ecosystem, enabling them to produce wines brimming with freshness, minerality, and character.

This is how 4 Monos La Danza del Viento Camino Real comes into being, a white wine originating from this granitic-soiled vineyard situated at an altitude exceeding 600 metres above sea level. Vines of the indigenous albillo real variety, averaging 95 years of age, are cultivated using organic and biodynamic practices. Once the grapes are harvested manually, they are pressed whole cluster, and the obtained must ferments with indigenous yeasts. Subsequently, the wine matures in used 300 and 500-litre barrels for 14 months.

Monos La Danza del Viento Camino Real is an exotic white wine of aromatic richness and crystalline texture. A wine of lofty aspirations crafted in a truly authentic plot, aligning with the great white wines of the northern Rhône.

On the nose, it reveals notes of white fruits such as pear and apple, accompanied by subtle hints of flowers and yellow fruit, like peach. On the palate, it is balanced and harmonious, with a finer and more elegant texture. Its minerality and a slight stony touch impart a distinctive character to this wine.
