9+ Selecció 3R 2025 presents an enchanting freshness from the very first sip. About 9+ Selecció 3R

The cartoixà is a red variety predominantly cultivated in the northeast of Spain, particularly in the Camp de Tarragona. Here, the long-standing tradition, which is being revived today, transforms the red of its berries into exquisite red wines. In Nou de Gaià, this indigenous variety mutates with very specific characteristics in which, despite being a white grape, it retains a hint of colour. With it, the winemaker Moisès Virgili i Rovira crafts 9+ Selecció 3R. 
 
Far spicier than the conventional cartoixà, the mutation used to produce 9+ Selecció 3R results in a white wine with character, breaking away from the conventional. This outcome is the fruit of a project where Moisès seeks to return to the origins, reviving traditional winemaking methods based on artisanal practices without adding any type of additive. This, which has been practised for centuries, is now known as organic farming, becoming the roadmap for this winery that boasts 38 hectares, of which 20 are entirely vineyards. 
 
9+ Selecció 3R is harvested manually and directly placed in vats, with a simple milling, starting to ferment from indigenous yeasts. This process will last about 32 days until, once transformed into wine, 9+ Selecció 3R spends some time macerating. Finally, 9+ Selecció 3R is very lightly pressed and left to rest on its lees until bottling (where some of these are added to ensure good evolution). 
 
Moisès Virgili i Rovira set out to revive both the indigenous varieties of the area and the most traditional winemaking methods. And they have achieved both. A round of applause for Moisès Virgili i Rovira and another for his 9+ Selecció 3R.
