About Aalto Blanco de Parcela

Aalto Blanco de Parcela is a single-variety, wood-aged Verdejo. Created by Aalto, this is the first white wine made by the famous winegrower Mariano García in the D.O. Ribera del Duero in Castilla y León (Spain).

Aalto was set up in 1999 by Mariano García and Javier Zaccagnini in the prestigious wine-growing area of Ribera del Duero. This winery produces wines that faithfully reflect the variety of terroirs, and after 20 years of experience, it has become one of this denomination of origin’s great ambassadors around the world.

Aalto Blanco de Parcela comes from Fuente de las Hontanillas, a plot located in the Valladolid town of Quintanilla de Arriba at an altitude of 900 metres above sea level. These are Verdejo vines planted in mainly limestone soils and cultivated in an environmentally friendly way, taking into account the natural cycles of the vineyard.

In the winery, once the Aalto Blanco de Parcela grapes have been meticulously selected, they are gently pressed and the resulting must is fermented with native yeasts at a controlled temperature. The wine then rests on its lees for 12 months in 225-litre French oak barrels.

Discovering the first white wine from one of Ribera del Duero’s leading wineries is always a pleasure. Aalto Blanco de Parcela is an elegant and sophisticated Verdejo that wonderfully combines complexity and freshness.

2022
Aalto Blanco de Parcela 2022 is a white wine with an exquisite aromatic fullness. Aromas reminiscent of red apples and pears emerge, accompanied by a refreshing hint of orange peel. On the palate, it presents a pleasant volume, fresh and dynamic. An elegant Verdejo, with a long and persistent finish.

Aalto Blanco de Parcela 2021 is a white wine with a subtly full-bodied personality and moderately aromatic profile. On the nose, it reveals scents of red apple, pear, and a hint of orange peel. Upon tasting, it is fresh and dynamic, with good volume and a creamy mouthfeel. Its length and balance make this wine an intriguing and enjoyable option to savour.

Aalto Blanco de Parcela 2019 is a creamy white wine with aromas of ripe white fruits and citrus notes over a slightly toasted wood background and spicy touches. On the palate it is fresh, voluminous and broad. A wine with an unctuous yet refreshing texture that can be enjoyed now or kept for up to 5 years.
