About Alejairén

Alejairén is a white wine produced by the winery El Vínculo, in Campo de Criptana (Ciudad Real), within D.O. La Mancha. El Vínculo is one of the 4 wineries of Familia Fernández Rivera.

The winery El Vínculo is located in a typical building from La Mancha, converted into a modern winery in 1999.They have old Tempranillo vineyards, of the best sites in the area. Therefore, they can make outstanding wines with a limited production, thus becoming a great reference in this area.

Alejairén is a white wine made with Airén from vineyards located in Pago de la Golosa, at around 700 metres of altitude on soils that are a mixture of clay and sand.

Once the grapes are harvested manually, they are taken to the winery and destemmed. After a slight pressing, the must ferments in stainless steel deposits at a controlled temperature. After the fermentation, the wine spends 24 months in American oak barrels, and rests another 6 months in the bottle before going on the market.



 

2017 Alejairén 2017 is a mature, unctuous and ample wine. On the nose, the aromas of ripe white fruit stand out, with notes of minerals and of its long ageing. In the mouth, it is dense, with a lot of volume and an unusual liveliness for this type of wine, which gives it balance and depth.
