About Alenza Gran Reserva

Alenza Gran Reserva is a red wine crafted by Condado de Haza winery, located in Roa (Burgos), within the esteemed D.O. Ribera del Duero.

Condado de Haza is one of the four wineries comprising the prestigious Familia Fernández Rivera group. The Condado de Haza winery boasts in excess of 200 hectares of Tempranillo vines, all situated in the municipality of Roa, perched at an altitude exceeding 800 meters, atop sandy-loam soils, under a continental climate with an annual rainfall averaging around 400 mm. Alenza Gran Reserva is a red wine produced from Tempranillo grapes sourced from the Viña Valera plot, located approximately 800 meters above sea level on sandy-loam soils.

Following the manual harvest, the grapes are transported to the winery and tread without destemming. Subsequently, the grapes undergo fermentation in stainless steel tanks, where maceration also takes place. Upon completion of fermentation, the wine is aged for a year in American oak barrels, thereafter maturing in the bottle until it is released to the market.
