About Alges
Alges is a red wine made by Clos Pons. Clos Pons' identity is marked by the land and the climate. This winery strive to express the rich sensations of the earth in each one of their bottles.
Their philosophy of work on the vines is characterised by respect for the natural product. Therefore, they follow organic farming guidelines and opt for low yields, in order to extract the maximum quality and expression.
This wine is made with Tempranillo, Grenache and Syrah grapes from vines located at 500 metres altitude. The harvest is manual and the grapes are collected in 15 kg boxes. Lastly, this wine ages for 9 months in new 1st and 2nd year oak barrels, 80% French and 20% American.
| 2018 | Alges 2018 is a red wine that captivates from the first swirl in the glass: intense aromas of candied fruit, wild herbs, and an earthy whisper reminiscent of gunpowder after rain. On the palate, it is enveloping and flavourful, with a velvety touch that caresses the palate without losing firmness. The ripe fruit and well-integrated oak meld into a long, silky finish full of character. A wine that speaks plainly, without pretensions, yet with great elegance. |
