Finca Allende Mártires 2023 enchants with its subtle and alluring aroma, enhanced by its maturation in oak, imparting a creamy texture. The year 2023 was warm yet moderate compared to 2022, allowing for restrained grape ripening, resulting in a balanced and fragrant profile. About Finca Allende Mártires

Finca Allende Mártires is a white wine produced by Finca Allende in Briones, D.O.Ca. La Rioja.

 

In 1986 Miguel Ángel de Gregorio discovers, in Briones, a unique terroir that he fell in love with. This is when he started to buy small vineyard areas with old vines. However, it was not until 1995 when he created his first Allende vintage. From this moment, he focused all his efforts on showing the character and the expressiveness of the terroir in his wines, on extracting all the essence of each one of his vines. He uses environmentally sustainable cultivation and follows the natural cycles of the plant, with organic fertiliser and mechanical tilling, without using any herbicides.

 

Finca Allende Mártires is a wine made from Viura, from Finca Mártires, planted in 1970 on clayey-loam soils with rocks in the deeper layers. Harvesting is carried out manually, selecting the grapes in winery. After a slight pressing and a static settling process of the flor must for 48 hours, they ferment in French oak barrels for 24 days at 20ºC. The ageing process lasts 11 months in French Bourdeaux oak barrels. Four of those months the wine is left on its lees, with batonnages twice a week.

 

Finca Allende Mártires is a powerful wine, with volume and silkiness. The unctuousness of the ripe white fruit alongside the creaminess of the ageing with lees, takes us to the best grand cru of Burgundy.
