About Amaren Graciano
Amaren Graciano is a red wine produced by Bodegas Amaren in the D.O Ribera del Duero.
Bodegas Amaren is property of Juan Cañas, the owner of the winery Luis Cañas. This is in homage to his mother, amaren in Basque means mother, a mother submitted to the ways of the field and the winery.
Amaren Graciano is a monovarietal from Graciano, produced from old vines of more than 60 years of age.
The harvest is completed by hand, applying a strict grape selection process, and then is later, transported to the winery in small containers that preserve the grapes in the best possible condition.
Once the grape arrives at the winery, there is a secondary selection process, only choosing the best grapes.
The fermentation takes place is oak casks. Once finished, the grapes are macerated to extract all its potentials.
Amaren Graciano, subsequently, receives a malolactic fermentation in new French oak barrels from various barrel makers, where it is aged for 18 months before being bottled.
An excellent wine from the Ribera del Duero, a result of a strict selection of grapes and a magnificent completed work in ageing the wine.
| 2017 | Amaren Graciano 2017 is a concentrated red wine, highly perfumed and intense. Black fruits, mahogany, flowers, and dried herbs predominate on the nose. On the palate, it is full-bodied with chewy and chalky tannins. A flavorful and mineral finish. | |
| 2012 | Amaren Graciano 2012 is a richly concentrated red wine exuding scents of candied blackberries, herbaceous undertones, and hints of spice and limestone. On the palate, it unfolds with expansive fruitiness and robust structure. This wine exhibits silky tannins, seamlessly integrated acidity, and an enduring finish accented by refreshing menthol notes. | |
| 2006 | Good body and voluminous wine. Rich, intense and aromatic palate. Expressive and persistent finish, that leaves notes of fruit and minerals. Very dark cherry red, almost black. Dense legs and great robe. Intense and complex aromas. Lots of ripe fruit and toast, accompanied by notes of coffee, pencil lead, licorice, chocolate and spicy. Typical aromas of the variety Graciano. |
|
| 2005 | The pace is hot and alive, with pronounced acidity throughout varietal. A characteristic aftertaste of mineral notes appear (graphite) and reappear nuances that suggest coffee, mocha, vanilla ... Cherry red color, high and dense layer. Full and intense. They combine balsamic touch, memories of fine woods and spicy roasted on a background that appears in shades reminiscent of coffee. |
