About Antoine Lienhardt Les Plantes au Bois

Antoine Lienhardt Les Plantes au Bois is a natural red wine produced by Domaine Antoine Lienhardt in the AOC Côte de Nuits-Village/Côte-d'Or, in Burgundy (France). 
 
A fearless new generation winegrower, Antoine Lienhardt is currently regarded as a great talent among minimal intervention producers. In 2011, he took over his grandfather’s vineyards in Comblachien, on the Côte de Nuits, and in 2011 he released the family’s first bottled wines. These are pure and energetic productions that have caught the attention of natural wine enthusiasts and that will keep well in the bottle for 15-20 years.
 
Antoine Lienhardt Les Plantes au Bois comes from vines planted in the late 1960s on clay and limestone soils. They are cultivated using organic agriculture following biodynamic principles and with minimal ploughing so as not to disturb the natural balance of the soil. The grapes are collected and sorted by hand at harvest time.
 
In the winery, the Antoine Lienhardt Les Plantes au Bois grapes undergo a semi-carbonic maceration in whole clusters in stainless steel tanks and no sulphur is added during vinification.  The wine then spends a year in oak barrels, 10% of which are new. 
 
Made with 70-year-old Pinot Noir vines, Antoine Lienhardt Les Plantes au Bois is a powerful wine that reveals a natural balance between delicacy and meatiness.

Antoine Lienhardt Les Plantes au Bois 2019 is a smooth red wine with fruity and smoky notes. On the palate it is sweet, firm and fruity. A medium-bodied wine with true complexity, a silky mid-palate and savoury tannins.
