About Arnot-Roberts California Red Wine

In the past, music was predominantly produced by major record labels, focused on the production of physical albums and with a limited emphasis on certain commercial styles. However, the advent of platforms such as Spotify and SoundCloud has revolutionised this dynamic, enabling independent and unknown artists to share their music directly with the public in an authentic manner. This shift has transformed not only the way music is produced and consumed but has also given rise to a rich diversity of styles and genres, reflecting the voices and experiences of a new generation. Similarly, wine production, once dominated by large wineries adhering to traditional formulas and limiting innovation, has evolved. Today, new winemakers and small producers are experimenting with varietals and techniques, fostering a purer, more diverse, and sustainable wine culture that gives voice to the authenticity of the terroir. It is with this aim that Duncan Arnot Meyers and Nathan Lee Roberts, friends in the Napa Valley, established their own project Arnot-Roberts in 2001. Building on close relationships with farmers, unique wines from selected vineyards, and low-intervention winemaking techniques, they offer us a collection of balanced, authentic, and elegant wines that have become synonymous with "New California wine."

For the production of Arnot-Roberts California Red Wine, Arnot and Roberts have chosen old vines of cabernet sauvignon, cabernet franc, and merlot, situated at 1300 feet in AVA Sonoma Coast (California). They operate organically, and the harvest is manual at the optimal moment of ripeness. In the winery, the grapes from each plot are selected, destemmed, and fermented separately with indigenous yeasts in stainless steel tanks. Subsequently, the blended wine ages, 50% in stainless steel tanks and the remaining 50% in neutral French oak barrels for 10 months.

Arnot-Roberts California Red Wine is an excellent example of what has been termed "the new wine of California." A nod to the great wines of the region crafted before the era of "Parkerisation," reflecting the diversity and richness of the Californian terroir beyond the Parker style.
