About Azores Wine Company Vulcánico Branco

Azores Wine Company Vulcánico Branco is a white wine blend of the Arinto and Verdelho varieties, produced by the winery Azores Wine Company under the GI Azores, in the Azores, Portugal.

 

Azores Wine Company Vulcánico Branco is made from a manual harvest of the varieties collected in 20 kg baskets where the bunches are carefully selected on arrival at the winery. The grapes are gently crushed and transported to fermentation vats where they remain for three to six hours at a low temperature. The must ferments spontaneously, thus preserving all its aromatic potential.

 

Azores Wine Company Vulcánico Branco is a wine which is part of the Volcanic Series collection of the Azores Wine Company winery which aims to show the potential of wines born from poor and stony volcanic soils,a kind of "rocha mãe" located in the middle of the Atlantic, at the foot of the largest mountain in Portugal, where nothing else is able to grow but where the varieties that make up this blend defy the inclement weather and ripen when the wild Azorean climate allows it.

 

2019 Azores Wine Company Vulcanico Branco 2019 is a profiled white wine which offers saline and mineral notes on the nose, showing a lush, tropical character. The palate is fresh and reminiscent of pineapple, passion fruit and other acidic fresh fruits. A white wine with a well-defined personality, ideal for pairing with seafood.
