About Bàrbara Forés Coma d'En Pou

The new Coma d'En Pou Bàrbara Forés vintage is a red wine from DO Terra Alta made by Celler Bàrbara Forés, a winery located in the city of Gandesa (Tarragona), a town near the Serra de Cavalls.

This wine is a blend of grape varieties Black Grenache and Grenache Peluda (21%) from vineyards planted in loamy soils located at an altitude of between 350 and 600 meters above sea level.
After the manual harvest, the wine is fermented for 17-22 days in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature of 22-26 ° C. Afterwards there is a maceration was 30 days.
As for the aging, Coma d'En Pou Bàrbara Forés rests for 15 months in French Allier oak barrels.

2021

Bàrbara Forés Coma d'En Pou 2021 exhibits an alluring cherry hue. On the nose, one detects notes of wild herbs, dried herbs, and spices, accompanied by stewed red fruit, such as cherries and strawberries. On the palate, it is an elegant and refined wine, with a smooth profile that feels pleasing. 2011 On the palate it is fleshy and full of flavour. Good toasted notes and spices that form a good and balanced ensemble. There are ripe tannins. A broad and warm entrance. A good persistence.

Cherry colour

On the nose it is complex. There are ripe fruit aromas, cherries in liqueur and candied fruit. Notes of herbs from undergrowth appears.
2006 Wine with a wide and warm attack and a fresh and fruity mid palate, with good toasted and spicy notes that form a nice and very balanced set. It has ripe tannins and a good persistence of mineral sensations.
