Baron de Ley Varietales Graciano 2020 is a red wine with intense aromas where blackcurrant or red fruits appear accompanied by a subtle spicy note (pink pepper) and aromas of vanilla and minerals. On the palate it reveals its character, which is stronger than other Rioja varieties, with an intense and lively palate of red fruits and well-integrated tannins. A fruity, long and refreshing red wine.

About Baron de Ley Varietales Graciano

Baron de Ley Varietales Graciano is a red wine from DOCa. Rioja produced by the winery Baron de Ley located in Mendavia (Navarra). It was established in the 1980s with the aim of marketing wines in a classic style.

They own over 400 hectares of vineyards located in various areas of DOCa. Rioja, thus allowing different grape varieties to adapt to the region's microclimates, from the Alavesa to Rioja Baja.

Baron de Ley Varietales Graciano originates from Ausejo, from the Almendros estate in Rioja Baja, where the vineyards thrive under a climate with a distinctly Mediterranean influence.

The production begins with fermentation in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature, followed by malolactic fermentation in the same tanks for 15 days at a temperature of 20ºC. It concludes with 12 months of ageing in American oak barrels.

Baron de Ley Varietales Graciano is another testament to how well the grape adapts to warm climates like that of the estate, resulting in a wine with great juiciness while retaining its acidity and therefore its freshness.

On the nose, it reveals intense aromas of blackcurrant and red fruits, complemented by subtle hints of pink pepper, vanilla, and a pleasant mineral note. On the palate, it surprises with a fresh and flavourful entry, well-integrated tannins, and lingering flavours of red fruits. Its long, balanced finish leaves a refreshing sensation, perfect for discovering the elegance of this variety.

A refined nose, with aromas of ripe red fruit, spicy notes and toast from the aging. On the palate it is intense, with a certain volume and a fresh and lingering finish.
