Enological excellence is not something achieved overnight. It is the result of years of dedication, passion, and respect for tradition. Therefore, when we encounter a wine from the family winery Begali, we know we are tasting the culmination of three generations of effort and craftsmanship. Founded in 1943 by Giordano Begali in the small village of Cengia, in the heart of Valpolicella Classica in Veneto, the Begali winery has always been committed to authenticity and quality. Today, his son Lorenzo, along with his wife Adriana and their children Tiliana and Giordano, continue this legacy with the same passion and dedication. Moreover, they have a steadfast commitment to protecting the prestigious amarone designation of origin and promoting this wine internationally.
A testament to this work is Begali Amarone della Valpolicella Classico, a blend born in vineyards located in the heart of Valpolicella. Vines of the local varieties corvina, rondinella, and corvinone are cultivated with meticulous attention to detail and following environmentally respectful agriculture. Once ripe, they are carefully selected and partially dried. After gently pressing the grapes, fermentation is carried out under controlled temperature, and then the wine ages for 3 years in wooden barrels and for at least 6 months in the bottle before being marketed.
The result is Begali Amarone della Valpolicella Classico, a prestigious red wine that embodies the enological excellence of the Valpolicella region in Veneto. A sublime example of how tradition and dedication can translate into a wine of unique character and complexity.
