About Beronia Graciano
Beronia Graciano is a single-variety red wine made with the Graciano variety in the D.O.Ca. Rioja by the Beronia winery.
Beronia was founded in 1973 in the town of Ollauri, in the Rioja Alta sub-region by a few businessmen friends who loved wine. Named after a Celtic tribe called the Berones who lived in Rioja during the third century BC, this winery has always been known for its long-aging wines. Since 1982, it has been owned by the González Byass group who continue to make wines in this “Beronia style” that is so unique to winemaker Matías Calleja.
Beronia Graciano comes from vines with an average age of 30 years old and planted in clay-limestone soils. These strains have a limited yield of 6,500 kilograms per hectare and are cultivated according to the principles of sustainable viticulture with a great respect for the environment. The harvest is carried out at the optimum moment of ripeness.
When the Beronia Graciano grapes reach the winery, they are cold macerated for a few hours. They then ferment in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature of between 22 and 24ºC. The wine is then aged for 6 months in new French oak barrels. Finally it is bottled and rests in the winery for a minimum of 6 months before going to market.
Beronia Graciano is a 100% Rioja wine but, thanks to the Graciano variety, it has more acidity and aromatic intensity than wines made with other varieties from this denomination.

| 2015 | Beronia Graciano 2015 is a fruity red wine with a complex nose of red fruits and violet flowers, spicy touches of pepper and cloves and chocolate notes. On the palate it is fresh, elegant and well structured with the fruit and cocoa and mineral notes standing out. | |
