About Bodega Clandestina Ancestral Confiscat

After studying tourism at university, Ferran Lacruz was not satisfied until he started making wine. This is how Bodega Clandestina was born, a wine project with 8 hectares of local grapes in the town of Sant Martí Sarroca (Alt Penedès). Their aim is to produce clean, natural wines that are not bound by any designation of origin or regulation.

Ancestral Confiscat comes from a 50-year-old vineyard. These are old strains that have been ecologically cultivated, without any pesticides, herbicides or chemicals that could harm the environment. The vines are not watered and the harvest is carried out manually in 18 kg boxes.

In the winery, Ancestral Confiscat is vinified using the traditional method. The grapes are first pressed in stainless steel tanks and then begin spontaneous fermentation with native yeasts. Just before fermentation ends, the wine is transferred to the bottle and capped, with no sulphur added, and left to age for 10 months on lees.

Bodega Clandestina Ancestral Confiscat honesty and naturally expresses the Xarel·lo variety in its sparking form. A fine-bubble sparkling wine with elegant smoothness made using the traditional method.

2018 Bodega Clandestina Ancestral Confiscat 2018 is a natural sparkling wine with a fine bubble. On the nose there are notes of yellow fruit, citrus and touches of pastry. On the palate it is fresh, unctuous and very elegant.

Bodega Clandestina Ancestral Confiscat 2016 is an original and unique sparkling wine. The nose is citrusy, with acidic notes, yellow fruit and hints of pastry. On the palate it is lively and well-defined, unctuous and very elegant. Fine, well-integrated bubbles.
