About Bosque de Matasnos Edición Limitada

Bosque de Matasnos Edición Limitada is red wine from D.O. Ribera del Duero, an area where the 2010 vintage was classed as "Excellent".

The winery is responsible for the creation of the wine Bosque de Matasnos. Jaime Postigo, the general director of the winery, supervises everything and each step of the wine making process to ensure the wine is a good quality.

This wine is a coupage of Tempranillo (95%) and Merlot (5%) varieties grown on their own vines that are more than 50 years old and planted in loam-sandy-clay soil which is poor in organic matter and situated 950 meters above sea level.
The vineyards are located on the boarder of a natural area of vine developing and this is reflected in the extreme climate conditions that have been registered in the area. These climatic problems like the frost are difficult for the ripening of the grapes. The work on these vines is long and delicate in order to obtain optimum ripeness of the grapes and be able to produce a wine of the highest quality.

The fermentation is very long and the temperature is very low. Afterwards, the wine undergoes a cold maceration of the must with its skins and a malolactic fermentation in new barrels. Thoroughness and delicacy play an important role in Bodegas Bosque de Matasnos which is the key to their success in order to produce wine of a high quality.
As for the aging, Bosque de Matasnos Edición Limitada spends 12 months aging in new fine grain French (90%) oak and American oak (10%) barrels. At Bodegas Bosque de Matasnos it is very important for the barrels to be new in order to put the wine in the best quality oak.

2019

Bosque de Matasnos Edición Limitada 2019 unfolds a spectrum of aromas with prominent ripe black fruits such as blackberries and plums, interwoven with hints of blueberries. Upon tasting, one experiences a delicate interplay of spices that encompasses vanilla, cinnamon, clove, and a hint of black pepper. On the palate, it presents a robust yet approachable structure, offering layers of dairy and leather which contribute to its complexity. This medium-bodied red wine, with its balanced concentration, promises an immersive and harmonious tasting experience.
2010 On the palate it is intense and powerful, red fruit aromas accompanied by spicy and tobacco notes.

Purple with red highlights. A very high robe.

On the nose it is intense and pleasant. Red and black (cherry and blackberry) aromas. There are tobacco and cocoa notes.
