About Bott-Geyl Gentil d'Alsace Métiss

Bott-Geyl Gentil d'Alsace Métiss is a white wine that is a coupage of Muscat, Riesling, Sylvaner, Pinot Blanc and Pinot Gris. It is a wine from the AOC Alsace produced by Domaine Bott-Geyl.

Domaine Bott-Geyl is a family winery founded in 1926 and located in the Upper Rhine. It has about 14 hectares divided into 75 plots, and these have been cultivated biodynamically since 2002.

For a wine to be considered Gentil at least half of the wine’s grapes need to be from noble strains, which in Alsace means Riesling, Muscat, Pinot Gris or Gewürstraminer.

Bott-Geyl Gentil d'Alsace Métiss is harvested by hand into boxes. Once in the cellar, these are emptied by gravity into pneumatic presses. The bunches are pressed gently and the resulting must is cleaned by decantation for about 24 hours. The fermentation is performed with native yeasts, and lastly the wine rests for a period of 3 to 6 months before being bottled.

Bott-Geyl Gentil d'Alsace Métiss 2021 is a crisp and approachable white wine. On the nose, it unveils a bouquet of ripe white fruits and citrus, interwoven with hints of white blossoms, adding an exquisite touch of finesse. On the palate, it is light and invigorating, with a harmonious acidity that accentuates its fruity essence and ensures a clean, lingering finish. This white wine is affable and silky, versatile and thoroughly delightful to savor.

Bott-Geyl Gentil d'Alsace Métiss is a fresh and balanced wine in which fruit and sweetness first appear, but which are compensated for by a delicate acidity that joins everything together. It has an ageing potential of 5 to 7 years.
2017 Bott-Geyl Gentil d'Alsace Métiss 2017 is a wine with a light, delicate and pure palate. It displays a lot of fruit and a fresh and clear base note, seasoned with notes of white flowers and citrus.
