About Acústic Celler Braó Vinyes Velles

Braó Vinyes Velles is a red wine from the D.O. Montsant produced by the winery Acústic Celler in Marça (Tarragona).

The winery was founded in 2004 by Albert Jané, a renowned catalan winemaker who set out to carry out personal and independent viticulture that departs from the existing conventional and excessively modernized winemaking.

Braó Vinyes Velles is a blend of two different grape varieties: Garnacha and Cariñena. The grapes come from vineyards planted over 80 years old, situated at altitudes between 300 and 600 metres on stony soils poor in organic matter. Due to their age, the vineyards have very low production, resulting in grapes with richer aromas and very concentrated must.


In regards to the winemaking process, following the fermentation and maceration at controlled temperatures, the wine is aged for 13 months in new and first year French oak barrels.

Braó expresses a certain strength, courage and valour of the old vineyards from which is comes, that against all odds produces a unique and authentic grape.

2020

Acústic Celler Braó Vinyes Velles 2020 is a concentrated red wine with a bright cherry colour. The nose displays aromas of ripe fruit and sweet spices, with expression, complexity and elegance. The palate is savoury and fruity with ripe tannins and a balance between power and finesse.

 
2013 Robust and well-structured, with a velvety and expansive mouthfeel, the palate is dominated by rich and concentrated flavors of ripe red fruit. The tannins are silky and finely honed. It culminates in a prolonged and delightful finish.

Deep cherry red with intense ruby highlights. Lustrous and profound.

Pleasant and pronounced ripe red fruits are seamlessly intertwined with fresh spicy, balsamic, and fortified wine nuances.
2011 Powerful, bulky attack. Slow, concentrated, silky and tasty in the mouth. Some intense tannins, a little bit rough but compensated with a very refreshing and defined acidity. Long and persistent finish with fruity notes.

Picota cherry colour, intense, clean and bright with violet hues. Abundant slow-falling, dark tears stain the glass.

Braó 2011 is intensely aromatic. Black and red fruit at all their stages of ripening are noticed and are well combined with roasted, toasted, spicy aromas from its ageing in oak. A nice mineral note in the background.
2010 Powerful, bulky attack. Slow, concentrated, silky and tasty in the mouth. Some intense tannins, a little bit rough but compensated with a very refreshing and defined acidity. Long and persistent finish with fruity and smoky notes. Elegant.

Picota cherry colour, intense, clean and bright with maroon rim. High robe. Abundant slow-falling, dark tears stain the glass.

Braó 2010 is intensely aromatic. Black and red fruit at all their stages of ripening are noticed and are well combined with roasted, toasted, spicy aromas from its ageing in oak. In the background there is a subtle mineral note, less intense than older vintages.
2009 What a blast of flavors and sensations! Its very large and bulky attack is followed by a silky, powerful and very tasty mid palate. The notes of fruit are very well assembled with smoked and spicy aromas. Its balanced acidity provides it with freshness. Tannins are lively. Long and very persistent finish. An elegant, very expressive and full-bodied wine from Montsant.

Intense cherry maroon colour. High layer. Very good tear with slides elegantly.

Complex and concentrated aromas. High mineral character, with intense notes of black ripe fruit, and nice elegant balsamic and toasted notes. When it opens up, the milky and spicy touches round out this range of seductive aromas. Light vegetal background with notes of Mediterranean forest.
2007 Expressive, inteense, vertical, very special fruit and finesse and balance with the fruit of the rare old vins.

Color cherry, high layer.

Very complex, with black forest fruits, spices and balsamic Mediterranean creaminess and a slight aroma of the cask.
