About Bruno Rocca Langhe Cadet

In 1991, the heirs of Bruno Rocca expanded their estates with a notable acquisition: the Fausoni vineyard. Adjacent to the town of the same name, in the Neive area, the blend of bluish marl and limestone within this parcel of land provides the quintessential foundation for the cultivation of three varieties: to the south, barbera; to the southwest, barbaresco; and to the east, chardonnay. This latter will signify a watershed in the winery's history, as it will be the basis for the creation of Bruno Rocca Langhe Cadet.
 
Prior to the 1990s, white wine remained an unresolved endeavor in this family enterprise; however, the latest generation has modernized the production by crafting this wine from venerable vineyards, approximately 40 years old. Little intervention is required in the fields for these sagacious vines, where the team of Bruno Rocca merely needs to observe and act accordingly, always seeking the optimum moment for intervention. "Our role is to think like the vine, to empathize with the plant. Only then can we discern the precise time to act, the moment to harvest the finest fruit to produce exceptional wines." Harvesting is one of those pivotal moments, a critical juncture where the entire year's efforts are at stake. For Bruno Rocca Langhe Cadet, it is conducted manually, in small ventilated crates, to ensure that the bunches arrive at the winery in optimal condition. At that point, an initial selection is made, which is further refined in the winery, where the collected grapes are meticulously inspected once more. From there, Bruno Rocca Langhe Cadet proceeds to the destemmer and is transferred to stainless steel tanks where it ferments spontaneously with indigenous yeasts. Finally, the months that Bruno Rocca Langhe Cadet spends maturing in stainless steel tanks and barrels will perfect this white wine, which will be bottled with the least possible amount of sulfur dioxide.
