Tasting notes Cà du Ferrà Colline di Levanto Vermentino Luccicante 2024
White wine Young Organic.
Cà du Ferrà Colline di Levanto Vermentino Luccicante 2024 is a fresh and delightful white wine. As the glass is brought to the nose, delicate aromas of peach and golden apple emerge, intertwined with subtle hints of wildflowers and chamomile. A gentle touch of aromatic herbs and raw almond completes this alluring aromatic profile. On the palate, it is a vibrant and well-balanced wine, with a refreshing salinity that enhances its liveliness. Its most remarkable feature is its harmony between freshness and subtlety, making it an ideal choice for those who appreciate the elegant expressions of a well-crafted vermentino.

About Cà du Ferrà Colline di Levanto Vermentino Luccicante
"The shoemaker's children go barefoot...", as the saying goes, referring to those all-too-human contradictions where one fails to apply at home what one excels at elsewhere. However, at Cà du Ferrà, the opposite is true. Here, the blacksmith's house not only lives up to its name but turns it into a declaration of intent. The expression has deep roots: long ago, horses were shod on these grounds, hence the dialectal name that now identifies the winery. Iron gave way to the vine, yet the artisanal spirit remains intact, transformed into another equally arduous, precise, and passionate task: heroic viticulture.
The story of Cà du Ferrà begins, like many good tales, with a spark of love. Antonio Zoppi, from Bonassola, and Aida Forgione, a viticulturist from Campania for generations, met over thirty years ago and soon made a radical decision: to leave behind their professions and start anew in the Riviera Ligure (Liguria) of Levante. There, they combined knowledge, intuition, and a great deal of enthusiasm, gradually acquiring country houses and vineyards in Bonassola, learning to coexist with daunting slopes and landscapes that resist taming.
In 2000, all that patient, almost artisanal work took shape with a name of its own: Cà du Ferrà, a winery and agritourism venture that looks to the future without losing sight of the local heritage. In recent years, the project has gained fresh energy with the arrival of their son Davide, who, after earning a law degree and setting aside his gown, chose to embrace a different kind of responsibility: caring for and revitalising his territory. Convinced that wine can also embody a form of commitment, Davide continues to forge the family path, demonstrating that at Cà du Ferrà, the saying is turned on its head, and the blacksmith's house knows well how to shape its own destiny.
This spirit is clearly expressed in Cà du Ferrà Colline di Levanto Vermentino Luccicante, a wine born from vineyards located in one of the most privileged areas of the Bonassola hills, just steps from the Ligurian Sea. Here, the medium-textured volcanic soils impart the vermentino with a particularly savoury and vibrant character, a true reflection of its coastal origin.
The harvest is conducted manually, and the grapes are promptly brought to the winery, where they are carefully selected and pressed. Fermentation occurs in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures, aiming to preserve freshness and varietal expression. After this process, the wine is left to mature on its lees for several months, refining its texture and complexity.
The result is Cà du Ferrà Colline di Levanto Vermentino Luccicante, a luminous and precise vermentino that speaks of landscape, effort, and an honest way of understanding wine.
