About Calalta Davvero

There are moments in life when change is not merely a step, but a turning point. Nicola Brunetti understands this well. When he took over the family business in 2017, Calalta was already a family project, yet he resolved to transform it: transitioning from a supplier for the cooperative winery to a true artisan of the grape, bottling under his own labels with a style that, through patience and consistent effort, has been solidified over the years.

"Our wine is from our land and is a sincere reflection of the unique characteristics of each vintage," says Nicola, and his journey attests to this. The real revolution began even earlier, in 2009, when he decided to replant the vineyards with unique and unusual varieties for the area: merlot, cabernet franc, syrah, garnacha, bronner, incrocio manzoni, and riesling. Forty-five hectares now form a mosaic of vines that express the terroir of Mussolente, in Veneto (Italy) with personality and authenticity.

Among these changes, Calalta Davvero stands as an example of Nicola's bold approach. The work in the vineyard is meticulous, with each vine cared for according to its specific needs, respecting the orientation of the slopes, soil composition, and natural light. The harvests are conducted manually, carefully selecting the clusters to ensure that only the grapes in perfect condition reach the winery. 

In the winery, the vinification of Calalta Davvero is equally meticulous. This riesling acquires its bright orange hue after a 60-day maceration with the skins, a process that imparts structure, complexity, and a silky texture that distinguishes this wine. Fermentation is carried out with indigenous yeasts, avoiding additives that could alter the grape's expression, and the 8-month aging in concrete respects the fruit's character, preserving the freshness and liveliness that define this vintage. 

Davvero is the embodiment of a turning point, of the decision to take risks, to look beyond tradition, and to turn each vintage into an opportunity to discover something new. Each bottle reveals complexity, structure, and the imprint of a vineyard tended with absolute respect for the land.
