About Camino Romano
This new vintage from Camino Romano, is a vintage that has been classified as 'very good' in D.O. Ribera del Duero. Camino Romano has been produced in D.O. Ribera del Duero by Bodegas Dominio Romano.
This wine is a single variety Tinto Fino (100%) grown from a rigorous selection of vines which are between 15 to 30 years old.
As for the production, in order to extract the maximum aromatic potential of the grape, they use "cold soaking", a modern technique that extracts aromas and colour of the wine with little input from the tannins.
Finally, Camino Romano undergoes an aging of 12 months in French and Hungarian oak barrels of 2 and 3 years old.
| 2012 | On the palate it is elegant, pleasant and enticing. A good acidity that is balanced with a red fruit protagonist. Fresh and clean finish. Crimson red colour with violet rim. Clean and bright. On the nose it is profound and intense with a presence of fruit notes (red fruit) accompanied with herbaceous notes and a good ensemble of nuances supported by the aging. |
|
| 2011 | A direct wine with a very good attack and a light and elegant mid palate marked by a good acidity and slightly drying tannins. Some nice toasted hints are also noticed. Clean and very bright, dark cherry colour with violet reflections. High robe. This wine shows high-intensity nasal aromas among which the intense notes of ripe red fruit stand out together with the toasted aromas, the spicy notes and some light smoked hints. |
|
| 2009 | In the mouth, it is direct and sincere. It has a good acidity which gives way to an agile and elegant mid-palate marked by a good acidity and tannins a bit dry. Long finish of medium-persistence. Pleasant toasted hints at retro-olfaction. Cherry red colour with violet reflections. High robe. Clean and very bright. Camino Romano 2009 has a more fragrant nose tan its previous vintage. Intense red fruits stand out together with toasted and spiced aromas and smoked reminiscences. |
|
| 2008 | Very tasty wine with a very fruity character which fills the mouth from the beginning. It has well integrated toasted hint. Its acidity provides it with a very good freshness. It has some noticeable tannins and a very long finish with good lingering aromas of very fresh fruit.
A round, elegant and easy-drinking wine. Very tasty. Intense and very bright cherry red colour with violet edges. Medium-high robe and glyceric tears. Its very intense aromas of juicy ripe red and black fruit, in jam are mixed with the notes provided by the oak which are softly perceived, without covering the notes of fruit, but providing them with multiple nuances: hints of sweet spices, mineral touches, some liquorice and good toasted notes. It has a subtle herbal background. |
