The story of Montombra is one of a dream to blend five varieties into a single wine, which over time evolved into two, to reveal the multifaceted voices of the terroir.
 
Can Ràfols dels Caus embodies a philosophy that honours the land and pays tribute to the invisible: that intangible essence perceived only by the soul. Founded by Carlos Esteva, a man passionate about art and nature, the winery is embedded in the rock of Garraf, a tribute to the landscape that sustains it and a space where each plot is vinified separately to capture its unique personality. Its legacy is not just wine, but a bridge between the tangible and the emotional, a profound dialogue with Mediterranean history and nature.
 
Can Ràfols dels Caus Montombra Tinto is born from the vines of cariñena and syrah cultivated on dry stone terraces with slopes reaching up to 50%, on loamy-clay soil rich in active limestone. Following a delicate fermentation and maceration that respects the grape's structure, the wine matures for around 16 months in 500-litre French oak barrels, gaining complexity without losing purity or elegance. The result? Just over 800 bottles of a red wine that unfolds aromas of intense black fruits, spicy nuances, and an almost saline mineral background reminiscent of the Garraf terroir, with a long, velvety finish that invites further exploration of its mystery and promises beautiful longevity.
