About Carmelo Rodero Raza Reserva

Carmelo Rodero Raza Reserva is a red wine from Ribera del Duero produced by Bodegas Rodero. The winery is located in Pedrosa del Duero (Burgos).

Carmelo Rodero Raza Reserva is made with the Tinta del Pais (90%) and Cabernet Sauvignon (10%). The grapes come from old vines over 30 years old on the 80 hectares that the winery has in Pedrosa de Duero, Boada de Roa Roa and Mambrilla Castrejon.

Carmelo Rodero Raza Reserva is made the traditional way. Both the maceration and alcoholic fermentation are performed at controlled temperature.

Aging, meanwhile, lasts 20 months in French oak barrels.

Carmelo Rodero Reserva Magnum 2016 is a sophisticated red wine. The bouquet is exceptionally delicate, featuring ripe fruit, vanilla, cinnamon, coffee, and toasted hints. On the palate, it is fleshy and harmonious, boasting mature, velvety tannins. The finish is extensive and lingering.
2011 Pleasant, enveloping and silky entry. Step is tasty and meaty. Good acidity and well integrated tannins.

Cherry red with violet hues. Clean and bright.

Medium-high aromatic intensity. Presence of red and black fruit with abundant toasts and spicy notes.
2010 Very fleshy palate, with a long finish and well-balanced acidity. Ripe, smooth, harmonious tannins which fill the palate with pleasant nuances.

This is a great wine, very balanced and charming, with an intense picota red colour and smooth violet notes, which mark its ageing with bright terracotta and amber rims.

Very subtle with ripe fruit aromas very well matched with notes of its ageing in wood such as spices (vanilla, cinnamon), and exhilarating scents of coffee and roasted notes.
