About Gutierrez de la Vega Casta Diva Cosecha Miel

Casta Diva Cosecha Miel is a sweet wine from Alicante produced by the winery Boedgas Gutiérras de la Vega. This a monovarietal of Moscatel that will go down in history as the wine that was served at the wedding of King Felipe and Doña Letizia on May 22, 2004.

The grape used by Cava Diva Cosecha Miel originates from vineyards located in the town of Javea. The soils chalky and the vines average an age of 40 years old.

The vines are formed into the Y shaped technique, typically found in arid areas such as this, where vines are faced with watering only from the rain.

A traditional and manual cultivation method, so is the harvest. The grapes have been left to overripe. Half of which are raisins and the other half are perfectly over ripened.

Once at the winery, the grapes for Casta Diva Cosecha Miel are pressed and then slowly fermented in French oak barrels that can contain up to 225 litres.

The alcoholic fermentation is stopped after a certain point to obtain the correct sugar levels.

Costa Diva Cosecha Miel is finally aged for a period of 13 months in French, American and Hungarian oak barrels that can hold up to 225 litres.

This wine is passed through a light filtering process being bottled.

2018

Casta Diva Cosecha Miel 2018 is a luscious sweet wine. Olfactorily, it is robust and evocative, exhibiting aromas of candied fruit, honey, orange blossom, withered flowers, wild herbs, and sweet spices. Subsequent to the initial bitter and citrus notes, nuances of toasted almond, patisserie, and vanilla emerge. On the palate, it is exquisitely flavorsome and well-rounded, delivering flavors of ripe fruits intermingled with hints of aged wood. It concludes with a long and enduring finish.

2013 Fruity, with sweet notes of honey and fresh orange. Light and delicate, subtle and perseverant.

Shiny, and a beautiful golden yellow.

Notes of honey, roses and bitter orange. An exotic touch with a toasted almond base. Spiced and pastry tones.
