About Cavarodes Côtes du Jura Poulsard Les Lumachelles

Cavarodes Côtes du Jura Poulsard Les Lumachelles is a natural red wine made by Domaine des Cavarodes with the Poulsard variety in the AOC Arbois, in Jura (France).
 
In 2007, at just 22 years old, the young Etienne Thiébaud set up his own winery, Domaine de Cavarodes, in the heart of Jura, and he was influenced by regional experts in natural winemaking. A champion of both the typical varieties and the more recently recovered ones, he works very hard to produce wines that are best known for their beauty and purity.
 
Cavarodes Côtes du Jura Poulsard Les Lumachelles comes from vines planted in calcareous soils on marl. They are cultivated using organic agriculture and no chemical treatments that could affect the natural balance of the terroir. Instead they use herbal teas, and pruning and manual harvesting are carried out in line with the lunar calendar.
 
Cavarodes Côtes du Jura Poulsard Les Lumachelles is vinified with minimal intervention and no sulphur. Fermentation takes place spontaneously with native yeasts and the wine ages in foudres for 12 months. Finally, the wine is bottled without clarifying or filtering. 
 
Cavarodes Côtes du Jura Poulsard Les Lumachelles is a gastronomic red wine that honestly expresses the essence of the original Jura terroir. 
 
2019
Cavarodes Côtes du Jura Poulsard Les Lumachelles 2019 is a smooth red wine with a fruity bouquet accompanied by hints of leather and hints of moist earth. On the palate it is juicy, crisp and fresh. A wine with bright acidity and pure tannins. Should be enjoyed within 10 years.
