Cayuse En Chamberlin Syrah 2017 is a concentrated red wine with intense aromas of generous and juicy black fruits, spicy notes and hints of violets and lavender. On the palate it is full-bodied, complex and elegant. It has a firm structure with fine-grained tannins, medium minerality and a long and impressive finish. Only 365 boxes have been produced.

About Cayuse En Chamberlin Syrah

Cayuse En Chamberlin Syrah is a barrel-aged biodynamic red wine produced by Cayuse Vineyards in Washington (USA), in the Walla Walla Valley area.
 
After studying viticulture in Champagne and Burgundy, Christophe Baron crossed the pond in 1993 to discover other wine regions. This is how he fell in love with Walla Walla Valley, in Washington and he decided to set up his own project, Cayuse Vineyards, on rocky terrain that is quite similar to the terrain in Chateauneuf du Pape, France. With 6 vineyards covering an area of about 22 hectares and cultivated according to biodynamic principles, he produces spectacular wines that are recognised all around the world.
 
Cayuse En Chamberlin Syrah comes from a 4-hectare plot that was planted in 2000. The vines have an average age of 20 years old, they are planted on stony soils and are organically cultivated without using synthetic fertilisers, chemicals, insecticides or fungicides. In 2002, this became the first biodynamic vineyard in the Walla Walla Valley where land, plants and animals coexist as a closed ecosystem. 
 
When the grapes reach optimum ripeness, the harvest is carried out manually, following the astronomical calendar. Cayuse En Chamberlin Syrah is made through fermenting with native yeasts and aging in wooden barrels.
 
Cayuse En Chamberlin Syrah is an honest wine with its own identity. A limited production red where Syrah is the star variety. Power and finesse in one.

2016 Cayuse En Chamberlin Syrah 2016 is a concentrated red wine with an aromatic nose of black fruits under smoky notes. On the palate it is rich, generous and very well structured. A dense, chewy masculine wine with ripe tannins and a finish with hints of black olives and smoked blackberries. Only 388 boxes have been produced.
