About Ceretto Barolo Bricco Rocche

Although the word "cru" has a different meaning in each French wine-growing territory, it always refers to a particular territory within a larger one, in which the grapes that grow are of outstanding quality. Specifically, in Burgundy a "cru" defines a plot of land registered under this name, linked to the wine business that has been going on for decades or even centuries. It is under this concept of quality that brothers Bruno and Marcello Ceretto, upon taking over the management of the family business in 1960, had the idea of integrating the "cru" concept in Piedmont (Italy). A revolutionary idea that had never before been seen in Italy, and that made the winery a true ambassador for Piedmont. Today, their sons are the ones who continue their legacy with more than 160 hectares of vineyards distributed across 4 wineries home to more than 10 DOAs of the Le Langhe area, such as Barbaresco, Barolo, Nebbiolo d'Alba and Moscato d'Asti. A true evolution of the Burgundian "cru" concept.

As a representation of this work, they present Ceretto Barolo Bricco Rocche. A red wine integrated in Barolo DOCG whose nebbiolo grapes come from a small and prestigious plot of just over one hectare, located at 370 meters above sea level in the municipality of Castiglione Falletto, in the province of Cuneo. These old vines planted on sand, silt and clay soils are traditionally grown and harvested by hand. In the winery, the previously selected and destemmed grapes are fermented with naturally occurring yeasts in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures and, after malolactic fermentation, the wine is first aged in barrels for 12 months and then transferred to large barrels before bottling.

With "cru" as a concept that crosses borders and is recognized as a seal of quality, the Ceretto brothers demonstrate their dedication to excellence through emblematic wines such as Ceretto Barolo Bricco Rocche. Grapes from specific plots cultivated using traditional methods and elaborated with painstaking manual labor that represent the aristocracy of Italian wine.
