About Ceretto Barolo Bussia

Ceretto Barolo Bussia is an ecological, barrel-aged red wine made by the Ceretto winery in DOCG Barolo (Piedmont) with the native Nebbiolo variety.

Since Riccardo Ceretto founded this family winery, three generations have worked to produce high quality wines in one of the most prestigious wine regions in the world. With a long list of different plots, they make wines from different denominations like Moscato d’Asti, Barbaresco and Barolo.

Ceretto Barolo Bussia comes from vineyards classified as cru in the heart of Bussia Soprana. This is a small plot with vines aged around 25 years and cultivated under ecological certification and using biodynamic treatments to help maintain the natural balance of the soil in the most respectful way. When the grapes are ripe, they are harvested manually.

Ceretto Barolo Bussia grapes ferment spontaneously in stainless steel tanks, followed by 10-15 days of maceration. Then malolactic fermentation takes place in wooden barrels and the wine is left to age in large botti and 300 litre barrels for about 30 months. Finally, it rests for a year in the bottle.

2015 Ceretto Barolo Bussia 2015 is a concentrated red wine with an impressive base of undergrowth, fruity notes and touches of orange and violet flowers on the nose. On the palate it is unctuous, noble and very complete. A deep wine with refined tannins and great aging potential.
