About Château Haut-Brisson

Many Chinese entrepreneurs have invested in French vineyards. One of them, the energetic Hong Kong financier Peter Kwok, has been based in Bordeaux for 20 years. His long-term commitment and continued investment in properties in the region demonstrate his interest and confidence in the potential of these wines. A small empire is being built on the right bank of Bordeaux, including Tour St.-Christophe, Carnelian and Château Haut-Brisson. The latter, one of the newest acquisitions, is an 18-hectare wine estate located in the prestigious Saint-Émilion Grand Cru appellation, producing wines that are characterised by their elegance and balanced structure, and are an example of winemaking tradition and oenological excellence.

Its namesake wine, Château Haut-Brisson , is a coupage of merlot and cabernet franc from vines of an average age of 30 years. They are planted in soil composed of a combination of clay and limestone, typical of the Saint-Émilion region. Their work is organic and the harvest is carried out by hand at the optimum point of ripeness. Once in the cellar, the best grapes are selected, destemmed and gently crushed. Fermentation is carried out with native yeasts at a controlled temperature and then the wine ages for 15 months in French oak barrels.

Peter Kwok has a keen eye in the process of investing in the creation of exceptional wines. Proof of this can be found in Château Haut-Brisson, a wine that was born in an estate he acquired as an investment and which has become a way of life.
