About Chavy-Chouet Les Maréchaux Bourgogne Aligoté

Many of the grand projects we admire today are born from the union of two families. An iconic example is Mercedes-Benz: in 1926, the companies of Gottlieb Daimler and Carl Benz merged to create one of the world's most prestigious automotive brands. Since then, the hyphen in its name is not merely a typographical detail, but a symbol of the alliance of two visions that forever transformed the history of transportation.

A similar phenomenon occurs in the world of wine with Chavy-Chouet, a double surname that encapsulates a story of tradition and shared land. This Burgundy winery is the result of seven generations devoted to viticulture, uniting the heritage of the Chavy family from Puligny-Montrachet with the maternal lineage from Pommard.

Today, the estate is under the stewardship of Romaric Chavy, who, after training at a wine school and enriching his experience across four continents, took the helm in 2014 following the passing of his father, Hubert. With 15 hectares spread across 14 appellations, Romaric blends precision, tradition, and innovation to keep the spirit of the house alive.

True to the golden rule of never cutting corners when crafting a great wine, Chavy-Chouet Les Maréchaux Bourgogne Aligoté is a white wine with the AOC Bourgogne Blanc designation, made entirely from the aligoté variety. Originating from clay soils, it spends approximately 10 months in barrels and vats, with a maximum of 20% new wood. The natural fermentation and brief ageing aim to preserve the utmost freshness and pure expression of the grape.
