About Chivite Finca Legardeta Tinto

Chivite Finca Legardeta Tinto is a red wine crafted by the Grupo Chivite, located in Villatuerta, within the DO. Navarra appellation.

Grupo Chivite traces its origins to Bodegas Julián Chivite, a venerable enterprise dating back to 1647. Presently owned by Grupo Perelada, the estate spans over 400 hectares, with 150 hectares predominantly dedicated to the cultivation of tempranillo, accounting for sixty percent. The remainder is allocated to garnacha and the international varieties cabernet sauvignon, chardonnay, and merlot.

Another range from Chivite is the line of wines produced from grapes grown on the slopes of the Legardeta farm, in the municipality of Villatuerta. Chivite Finca Legardeta Tinto is a wine crafted from syrah, garnacha, and tempranillo sourced from Finca Legardeta located in Villatuerta, within the Tierra Estella subzone.

The harvest is conducted manually with grape selection in the vineyard. Once at the winery, the grapes are sorted and transferred by gravity into 20,000 kg stainless steel tanks. Following a brief maceration, Chivite Finca Legardeta Tinto undergoes fermentation at a controlled temperature. Upon completion of both alcoholic and malolactic fermentation, Chivite Finca Legardeta is moved by gravity into French oak barrels, where it will mature for approximately one year.

Chivite Finca Legardeta Syrah 2022 is distinguished by its intense aromas of ripe dark fruits, such as blackberries and plums, harmonized with spicy notes of black pepper and delicate hints of vanilla. On the palate, it stands out for its balance and smoothness, with a velvety texture that envelops well-integrated tannins. The finish is persistent and leaves a pleasant sensation of ripe fruit combined with a subtle spicy touch. It is a refined and easy-to-enjoy red wine, perfect for any occasion.

Chivite Finca Legardeta Syrah 2020 unfurls a bouquet of ripe black fruits such as blackberries and plums, interwoven with hints of black pepper and vanilla. On the palate, it is harmoniously balanced, with a silky texture that unveils mature tannins and a lingering finish. The ripeness of the fruit is seamlessly married to the understated complexity of spices, crafting an exquisite and approachable red wine.

Chivite Finca Legardeta Syrah 2019 unfurls on the nose with scents of ripe blackberries, interwoven with a hint of clove and floral nuances reminiscent of violets. On the palate, it is introduced with smooth tannins and a mature profile that deliver a velvety texture. A complex, well-structured red wine, with a lingering finish.
 
2015 Chivite Finca de Villatuerta Syrah 2015 is a deep, complex and elegant wine. In this vintage, it shows all the character of Syrah, with ripe black fruit and spicy notes and a delicate freshness provided with the Grenache.
2011 Expansive, encompassing entry. The palate is exceptionally dense and structured, featuring mature tannins. The finish is remarkably lengthy, with a smoky and mineral aftertaste.

The wine boasts a purple hue with a cherry-red rim.

The bouquet is profoundly intense, characteristic of the Syrah variety grown in northern regions. It exudes floral notes, a spicy complexity, black pepper, wild garrigue scents, and wild black fruit aromas, such as blackberry and blackcurrant.
