Chivite Las Fincas La Zorrera 2015 is a red wine that captivates from the outset. Upon serving, its dark and profound hue heralds a journey brimming with intensity. On the nose, it unveils enveloping aromas of ripe black fruits, such as blackberries and plums, with a subtle hint of spice and vanilla, a result of its time in oak barrels. About Chivite Las Fincas La Zorrera

Garnacha is a red grape variety widely acclaimed for its versatility and its ability to adapt to various cultivation and winemaking conditions. Grown in numerous wine regions across the globe, from Spain and France to Australia and California, each area boasts its own unique climate, soil, and growing conditions, allowing garnacha to express itself with distinct flavour profiles and character depending on the terroir. This variety, although generally characterised by its freshness, fruity expression, and minerality, truly reflects the nature of its terroir. This is why when Chivite, the renowned Navarre winery (Spain) with a long-standing tradition in producing high-quality wines, discovers "La Zorrera", they immediately set to work to honour this 6.6-hectare plot of garnacha located in the village of Villatuerta. 

First single-vineyard wine: Chivite Las Fincas La Zorrera is crafted from vines planted in the year 2000, on clay-limestone soil and at an altitude of 500 metres above sea level. It is a limited and numbered edition cultivated sustainably under an Atlantic-continental climate, which results in a late yet complete grape ripening. The harvest is conducted manually at the optimal moment of ripeness, and thereafter, in the winery, the vinification occurs spontaneously with indigenous yeasts in stainless steel tanks, always respecting typicity. Until its bottling, Chivite Las Fincas La Zorrera will spend several years maturing in barrels. 

Under the protection of the Protected Geographical Indication IGP Tres Riberas, Chivite Las Fincas La Zorrera reveals the essence of garnacha in this unique terroir. The first single-vineyard wine from Chivite offers a delightful freshness and a structure that makes it perfect for immediate enjoyment or for ageing.
