Christophe Pacalet Beaujolais Nouveau 2025 is a vibrant and colourful expression of the Beaujolais region. About Christophe Pacalet Beaujolais Nouveau

Whether in the realms of art, business, viticulture, or any other field, bearing the surname of someone who left a profound mark does not go unnoticed. It has its advantages, yet it also brings challenges that test the identity and character of the successor. While it is true that the direct influence of such a person is often an unparalleled source of learning, the weight of expectations can be overwhelming. Thus, the real challenge of being a descendant of someone great is finding the balance between honouring that legacy and forging one's own identity. In the case of Christophe Pacalet, nephew of Marcel Lapierre, a central figure in the natural wine movement in the Beaujolais region of France, he has managed to establish his own name with his small project on the outskirts of Villié-Morgon.

After learning from his uncle, he presents us with micro-vinifications such as this Christophe Pacalet Beaujolais Nouveau. A single-variety gamay from soils of ancient alluvial pebbles and granite. It is cultivated organically with organic treatments, and the harvest is manually and carefully selected. It is immediately transported in 25-kilo boxes to the winery, where a cold carbonic maceration begins with whole clusters, without sulphur and using native yeasts, lasting between 10 to 20 days.

The result is a vibrant and expressive wine, reflecting the free spirit of the gamay and the terroir of Beaujolais, but also the innovative and personal character of Christophe Pacalet. A beaujolais nouveau with which he carves his own path in the world of wine, demonstrating that it is possible to shine under the shadow of a giant like Marcel Lapierre.
