About Corral de Campanas

Corral de Campanas is a red wine produced by the winery Quinta de la Quietud in D.O. Toro.
The winery is located in the town of Toro, the heart of the D.O.
Corral de Campanas is made 100% with the variety Tinta de Toro. The vineyards are planted between 665 and 700 metres on deep soils with a loamy-clayey-sandy texture, and poor in organic matter.
All the winery’s vineyards are cultivated following the parameters of organic agriculture. In fact, since its foundation in 2002, the winery has the certification of the CAECYL (Council of Organic Agriculture of Castilla y León).
For its production, the grapes go through a shorter maceration-fermentation than what is usual at the winery, from 10 to 12 days.
After vinification, 50% of the wine is aged for 6 months in new and semi-new American oak barrels. In the meanwhile, the other half is aged in deposits with micro-oxygenation.
Corral de Campanas is the winery’s young, sexy ‘toro’.

2013 Robust and luscious, with a remarkably dense and meaty progression, it imparts delightful impressions of ripe red fruit. Exhibits commendable acidity and succulent, well-integrated tannins. The finish is enduring, with hints of wood lingering.

Deep purple with violet reflections. Clear and luminous.

Highly intense, the scents of red fruit meld seamlessly with those derived from the wood. The background is subtly accented with hints of dairy and cocoa.
2012 Pleasant but not powerful on the palate. It is, however, very round.

Picota red with a violet rim. Bright with a medium-high robe.

A complex, high intensity nose. Plenty of fruit and minerality with spiced touches.
