About Còsmic Valentia

Còsmic Valentia is a white wine produced in Emporda by Còsmic Vinyaters in Agullana, Girona.

Salvador Batlle founded this winery with the philosophy of preserving the environment, respecting earth´s strengths and minimising human intervention in wine production. It is a viticulture based on biodynamic principles. 

The project is carried out in two very different areas, one in the Bajo Penedés with well-adapted foreign varieties like Sauvignon Blanc and Cabernet Franc and the other where this wine is produced, in the Alto Emporda area which adjoins the French border.

Còsmic Valentia is produced with the Cariñena Blanca variety. The grapes come from 60 year old vines planted in granitic sandy soils. The harvest is done manually and collected in 12kg boxes. Vinification takes place in clay amphoras in which the wine ferments with its own yeast and is aged for 2 months.
2021

Còsmic Valentia 2021 is a very special white wine. The nose is complex and mineral with baked apple notes and delicate floral hints. On the palate it is fresh and unctuous with good acidity. Well balanced. Soft tannins. Long finish. 
2017 Còsmic Valentia 2017 is a deep, profiled and elegant white wine. This vintage displays all its aromatic potential perfectly, with aromas of ripe white fruit, floral notes and a spicy touch on a mineral base note. On the palate it is unctuous, with a lively mid-palate and a rather fresh finish.
