About En Voz Baja Costumbres Blanco

En Voz Baja Costumbres Blanco is an organic barrel-aged white wine crafted from the Viura grape variety by the winery En Voz Baja within the prestigious D.O.Ca. Rioja denomination.

En Voz Baja represents a modest yet passionate winegrowing project initiated by environmental biologist Carlos Mazo and graphic designer Isabel Ruiz. Through their wines, they are introducing an innovative approach to winemaking in La Rioja that emphasizes craftsmanship, environmental stewardship, and the revival of traditional practices.

Specifically, En Voz Baja Costumbres Blanco originates from two small plots characterized by coarse-textured and silty-clay soils. The vineyard practices organic farming, eschewing chemical products and attentively interpreting the vine's needs at all times through the use of time-honored, eco-friendly methods. The grape harvest is meticulously conducted by hand when the fruit reaches its optimal ripeness.

In the winery, the berries of En Voz Baja Costumbres Blanco are gently crushed underfoot, initiating spontaneous fermentation with indigenous yeasts and without temperature control in open barrels. Subsequently, the wine matures for 11 months in oak barrels. It is then bottled unfiltered and without the addition of sulfates.

En Voz Baja Costumbres Blanco is a barrel-aged white wine, untainted by any technological intervention and crafted following a philosophy of healthy viticulture free from chemical products. It is a rich and velvety wine, the product of exemplary winemaking traditions.

2017 Costumbres Blanco 2017 is a white wine characterised by aromas of fresh flowers and herbaceous touches. On the palate it is unctuous with fine tannins, an intense flavour and balanced acidity.
