Coto de Hayas Garnacha Centenaria 2024 astounds with its aromatic intensity, suffusing the air with the freshness of red fruits such as raspberries and cherries, complemented by subtle floral hints. The delicate toasted and spicy nuances, a result of its barrel ageing, add depth and complexity. On the palate, it presents a smooth and silky attack, unveiling a broad and fleshy body. Its firm and harmonious structure unfolds into a balanced experience, culminating in a long and lingering finish. About Coto de Hayas Garnacha Centenaria

The new Coto de Hayas Garnacha Centenaria vintage is a red wine from D.O. Campo de Borja produced by Bodegas Aragonesas.

The climate of this area is Mediterranean but there are continental influences. This climate is characterised by long and hot summers that have temperatures reaching 25ºC, while the winters lie around 8ºC. In the area the north wind is present; a cold and dry wind that blows from the north all year long.

This wine is a single variety Grenache (100%) grown in two of the wineries own vineyards, Monte Alto y La Sarda, planted in slate floors and terraces.

These wines can be found on the slopes of the Iberian Mountain Range in the foothills of Moncayo.

As for the production, it follows the traditional method. It all begins with a cold maceration for 24 hours. Afterwards, there is a fermentation at a controlled temperature of 28º C and a maceration for 2 weeks. When they obtain suitable results, there is a free running and pressing.

Finally, Coto de Hayas Garnacha Centenaria rests in new French oak barrels for 4 months.

On the nose, it reveals aromas of strawberries, cherries, and blackberries, accompanied by hints of scrubland and dried aromatic herbs, as well as spices such as pepper and clove. Its texture is silky, with a balanced acidity that imparts juiciness and freshness. On the palate, it is full-bodied and structured, with a rich array of nuances that enhance its distinctive character.

On the palate, its dry and robust character is harmonized with a fleshy texture, revealing a nuanced maturity. Its balance is flawless, culminating in a prolonged finish that beckons one to continue savoring its concentrated garnacha expression. A red wine that exhibits the opulence of venerable vineyards.

Cherry red in colour. Clean and bright.
