A prologue conjures the beginning of a story: the onset of an experience that invites one to delve deeper and immerse oneself in the narrative that follows. That is why, when Stefano Papetti Ceroni and Eloisa De Fermo present their wine De Fermo Prologo Montepulciano d'Abruzzo, it is a true declaration of intent. What began as a romance between two young individuals filled with dreams and ambitions transformed into a journey back to their roots when, in 2007, Stefano and Eloisa decided to leave their careers as lawyers to devote their lives to viticulture at Eloisa's family estate in Loreto Aprutino, a charming corner of Abruzzo in Italy. There, amidst vineyards and mountains, they built a project that was not only a commitment to wine but also a tribute to respecting the land and nature. Thus, their wine named Prologo becomes the introduction to the world of De Fermo, a first chapter that unveils the flavours, aromas, and essence of their terroir and their work philosophy, which in a few years has carved out a significant place in the viticulture of Abruzzo.

Born from the native montepulciano grape variety, De Fermo Prologo Montepulciano d'Abruzzo is a red wine originating from the legendary terroir of Loreto Aprutino, a locality in the province of Pescara. It is produced biodynamically, and following the manual harvest at the winery, fermentation is spontaneous with indigenous yeasts in concrete tanks. There, the wine remains for 2 months, followed by an 8-month maturation in wooden barrels. Finally, it is bottled unfiltered to achieve a gustatory-olfactory experience full of nuances.

Vigorous and energetic, De Fermo Prologo Montepulciano d'Abruzzo is a wine that serves as a prelude to one of Italy's most rich and authentic regions. A first chapter that awakens the senses and opens the door to the universe of De Fermo.

On the nose, it reveals a complex bouquet of marasca cherries and plum jam, accompanied by herbal notes and balsamic touches. Hints of black pepper, leather, and graphite are also discernible. On the palate, it is a robust and well-structured wine, with present tannins that lend elegance. Its concentrated profile translates into a long-lasting finish, leaving a memorable impression.
