Diamond Creek Gravelly Meadow Cabernet Sauvignon is a barrel-aged red wine crafted by Diamond Creek in AVA Napa Valley using the cabernet sauvignon variety in AVA Napa Valley, California (USA).
 
Diamond Creek Vineyards is a winery established in 1968 by Al Brounstein, a visionary in Napa Valley who was the first to bottle 100% cabernet sauvignon wines from a single vineyard. Through research, he discovered differences in soil composition and inclinations and decided to divide the estate into separate plots and vinify them individually. This led to the creation of pure wines with a highly personal style, gaining international acclaim. Currently, the winery is owned by Louis Roederer, the legendary French maison known for its Cristal champagne.
 
Diamond Creek Gravelly Meadow Cabernet Sauvignon is a vineyard with very low yield. It spans a total of 2 hectares of stony, gravelly soil that was once a riverbed. With a cool microclimate and rapidly draining soil, the vines struggle for moisture and produce concentrated berries of exceptional quality. 
 
In the winery, Diamond Creek Gravelly Meadow Cabernet Sauvignon undergoes maceration and fermentation at a controlled temperature. It then ages in 225-litre French oak barrels for 18 months. The bottling includes small portions of merlot, petit verdot, malbec, and cabernet franc. 
 
Produced by one of the pioneering wineries to apply the concept of terroir in the Napa Valley, Diamond Creek Gravelly Meadow Cabernet Sauvignon is synonymous with quality and longevity. A marvel year after year.
 
2017 Diamond Creek Gravelly Meadow Cabernet Sauvignon 2017 is a concentrated red wine that flows beautifully in the glass with notes of red and black fruits, cassis, tones of exotic spices, hints of violet flowers and a touch of chocolate with mint. Medium to full bodied, this wine has a good fruity concentration, with slightly rough tannins and a chewy texture. The finish is long with subtle hints of charcoal.
2016 Deep purple-black in colour, Diamond Creek Gravelly Meadow Cabernet Sauvignon 2016 is a concentrated red wine with beautiful aromas of black cherries, blueberries and cassis, combined with floral notes of violet, lavender and hints of chocolate, mint leaves and liquorice. On the palate this wine is medium-bodied, full and enveloping. It reveals exquisite fine-grained tannins and a brilliant freshness that lasts until the end. It finishes with a lingering and perfumed touch of black fruit and spices.
2015 Diamond Creek Gravelly Meadow Cabernet Sauvignon 2015 is a concentrated red wine that opens with a fragrant bouquet of violet blossoms, notes of rosehip and plum jam. There are also touches of wood, tobacco and menthol. On the palate it is voluminous, silky and very elegant. A medium-bodied wine with granular tannins, wonderful freshness and magnificent earthy layers. The finish is long with mineral hints.
2014 Opaque purple black in colour, Diamond Creek Gravelly Meadow Cabernet Sauvignon 2014 is a concentrated red wine with deep aromas of candied plum, cassis and blueberries combined with mocha, spice and balsamic hints. On the palate it is rich, voluminous and elegant. A red wine that surprises with its solid structure, fine-grained tannins and wonderful freshness. The finish is long and seductive with earthy touches.
