About Didier Dagueneau Pur Sang

Didier Dagueneau Pur Sang is a biodynamic white wine made by Didier Dagueneau with the Sauvignon Blanc variety in the AOC Pouilly Fumé, in the Loire (France).
 
Didier Dagueneau, a pioneering winegrower in the Loire, was a great specialist of the Sauvignon Blanc variety and one of the first to use biodynamic agriculture on his 11 hectares in the AOC Pouilly Fumé. When he died in 2008, his son Louis Benjamin Dagueneau took over with the same philosophy. 
 
Didier Dagueneau Pur Sang comes from old vines aged between 25 and 60 years old, planted in limestone, clay and flint soils. Considered one of the best cru in the AOC Pouilly Fumé, the vines are cultivated using biodynamic agriculture with organic and ecological treatments. The grapes are harvested by hand at the optimum point of ripeness. 
 
In the winery, the Didier Dagueneau Pur Sang grapes are gently pressed, and the resulting must ferments spontaneously with native yeasts for 3 months. The wine then ages on lees for 11 months in oak barrels. 
 
The Didier Dagueneau winery is known for its perfectionist quest for quality. The Pur Sang cuvée wine is proof of this and the name “pure” honours its pure and powerful character. 
 
2017

Didier Dagueneau Pur Sang 2017 is a white wine with aromas of exotic fruits, pastry notes and mineral hints. On the palate it is dense, powerful and very pure. A wine with refreshing acidity and an elegant finish with saline touch.
