In Burgundy, where each plot tells a story and each vintage writes its own chapter, there are wineries that seamlessly merge tradition with innovation. Domaine Chantal Lescure is one such example: a "modern natural estate," demonstrating that natural wine need not be extreme, but rather sophisticated, elegant, and technically impeccable, without losing authenticity or soul.
Like Nicolas Mariotti Bindi in Corsica or Jean Foillard in Beaujolais, Chantal Lescure belongs to that new generation of producers who advocate for respectful winemaking with minimal intervention, yet guided by profound technical knowledge and contemporary sensibility.
Located in Nuits-Saint-Georges, in the heart of the Côte d'Or, this estate was founded in 1975 by Chantal Lescure and Xavier Machard. Today, it encompasses 19 hectares of vineyards, stretching from the slopes of Dijon in the north to Meursault in the south, cultivated entirely organically since 2006.
More than just a winery, it is a living project, where every decision in the vineyard and the cellar aims to produce wines that are authentic, pure, and true to their terroir.
Among these, Pommard 1er Cru Les Bertins stands out, originating from a 2-hectare plot located south of Pommard in Burgundy, on limestone soils at an altitude of 245 meters, near the border with Volnay. The vines, aged between 30 and 60 years, give rise to a pinot noir of restrained elegance and mineral character, where power and subtlety coexist in perfect harmony.
Pommard 1er Cru Les Bertins perfectly embodies the philosophy of the estate. A wine that represents the most authentic Burgundy, reinterpreted with a modern and daring perspective.
