On the nose, it offers a burst of red fruits where cherries, raspberries, and strawberries find their perfect harmony, complemented by a subtle hint of herbs and dried flowers that evoke the sensation of strolling through a spring garden. On the palate, it unfolds in a juicy and smooth manner, with vibrant flavours that once again highlight those raspberry and cherry notes, accompanied by the delicate presence of violets. About Domaine des Carlines Poulsard

There are dreams that patiently await their moment to come. They make no noise, exert no pressure, yet they remain, like an idea that repeats itself time and again. Patrick Ligeron had a clear dream: to return to his native Jura and produce his own wine. The only missing piece was the right location. At the end of 2015, that dream found solid ground in Ménétru-le-Vignoble, and thus Domaine des Carlines was born.

Patrick, a native of Jura, and Sophie, who has been connected to the wine world for years, seized the opportunity when it arose to take charge of an 11-hectare vineyard, three of which lie within the prestigious Château-Chalon appellation. It was not merely an investment but the chance to transform a long-imagined idea into a deeply rooted reality.

The work is geared towards sustainable viticulture, with an ever-closer eye on organic farming, respecting the natural rhythms and the identity of the terroir. Here, the clay and grey marl soils define the character of the wines, imparting freshness, finesse, and an unmistakable personality.

Domaine des Carlines Poulsard is a genuine expression of this vision. The poulsard grapes are hand-destemmed and undergo cold maceration at 6°C for about 10 days, preserving all their aromatic delicacy. Fermentation is natural, with daily pump-overs, and the wine is aged for 8 months in 500-litre barrels, with several years of use, to avoid masking the purity of the variety.
