About Domaine des Entrefaux Crozes-Hermitage

Working generation after generation implies a deep commitment to the continuity and quality of an activity or tradition, as well as the preservation of a family legacy. Undoubtedly a testimony of the dedication and love of a family for what they do and for keeping alive an important part of their history and heritage. Domaine des Entrefaux, a family winery that has been run by the Clape family for several generations, has been one of the pioneers in the production of quality wines in the Crozes-Hermitage denomination. A constant and continuous work that has been passed from parent to child and that is now run by François and his wife Anne, who run it with the same affection as their predecessors. With 28 hectares of vineyards spread over 3 communes (Beaumont Monteux, Mercurol and Chanos-Curson) and a philosophy of maximum respect, the winery produces a range of wines, mainly reds, that reflect the character of the Syrah and the Crozes-Hermitage terroir. Fruity, structured wines with great aging potential that have won the praise of wine critics and wine lovers around the world vintage after vintage.

This is clear to see in Domaine des Entrefaux Crozes-Hermitage, a Syrah red wine from vines between 10 and 60 years old planted on clay and limestone soils. An area of 15 hectares that is organically cultivated using sustainable and biodynamic methods. The grapes are harvested by hand and, once they reach the winery, they are destemmed and gently crushed. Vatting lasts 2 to 3 weeks in concrete tanks and fermentation is carried out with native yeasts. The wine then ages 1/3 in barrels and the other 2/3 in vats and wooden barrels for 12 months.

As a result of these expertise that have been passed down from generation to generation, Domaine des Entrefaux Crozes-Hermitage is a pure red wine reflecting the Crozes-Hermitage terroir. A warm, silky and elegant Syrah that has contributed to the prestige of this northern Rhône wine region.

 

2021

Domaine des Entrefaux Crozes-Hermitage 2021 is a concentrated red wine with aromas of red fruits, spicy notes and mineral hints. On the palate it is silky, elegant and balanced. A medium-bodied wine with fine tannins, good acidity and a long, persistently spicy finish.
